Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM), approximately 15–20 minutes from La Belle Creole, provides nonstop service from major gateways including Paris, Amsterdam, New York, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Montreal and Toronto, together with additional direct and seasonal service from North American, European and Caribbean cities.

Tourism and passenger traffic continued to expand in 2026. According to the Sint Maarten Department of Statistics (STAT), Princess Juliana International Airport recorded 566,722 air passenger arrivals during the first six months of 2026, an increase of 21.4% over the comparable 2025 period. Cruise traffic reached 993,649 passengers during the same six-month period, an increase of 13.9%.

This extensive airlift, substantial cruise activity and the island’s role as a regional transportation hub provide Saint-Martin/Sint Maarten with an established international visitor base and connectivity unusual among Caribbean resort destinations.

Marigot

Approximately 15 minutes from La Belle Creole, Marigot is the capital and administrative, commercial and cultural center of French Saint-Martin. Set along Marigot Bay, the town offers a distinctive blend of French and Caribbean character, with restaurants, cafés, boutiques, local markets and waterfront activity. Historic Fort Louis, built in 1789 on the hillside overlooking the harbor, provides panoramic views across Marigot Bay and toward Anguilla. Marina Fort Louis and the waterfront ferry terminal further connect Marigot to the surrounding Caribbean, with regular ferry service to Anguilla and St. Barthélemy.
